Mural for My Grandson

Mural for My Grandson

I decided to paint my tree mural for my grandson. My daughter wanted something unique. So off I went!

I started with the tree base. Then it took about four to six weeks to figure out how I was going to do the leaves. I decided to cut out a leaf shape from a sponge.

I did the leaves green at first but really wasn't too happy with them.

Then I thought that since my grandson was born in the fall, I would do fall colors. I think that the autumn colors made my mural even better.

Then I made a canopy for the crib so it would look like he was camping.

My best advice is to do what you like, don't rush it, and enjoy your time painting.

Good luck to all and please share your mural painting experiences with us all.

Love Those Colors!

When a grandchild is involved, our creative juices start flowing. I think the most difficult part of a mural is just getting started. Toy, your tree is lovely; your colors are realistic. Great idea using a sponge for the leaves. And to think, your grandson will not outgrow your creation and you can add to it in time. Thanks for sharing!
