Styrofoam Crafts - Giant Squid

Red Giant Squid Ornament
My daughter and I are in a mother-daughter book club that meets once a month. The hosts are supposed to plan a craft project for the group to work on while they are discussing the book, something that ties into the story. For a meeting that my daughter and I hosted, the club had read a book with a giant squid as a main character.
We came up with a plan for making giant squid ornaments, inspired by the Styrofoam spider ornament on your website. For the body, we used a Styrofoam cone that I spray-painted red. We used red pompoms and large wiggly eyes for the eyes, and two red "boas" cut into four pieces each for the legs. We attached these using Elmer's glue. We were going to attach two red pipe cleaners for the feeding tentacles but decided not to because the ornament already was big enough and the pipe cleaners just got in the way. We attached a hook at the top.
All the materials were purchased at Michaels.
Thank you so much for the idea that inspired us. Your website was helpful. You include great detail which I found helpful, useful, and interesting. The girls in the book club and their mothers loved the squids. It was a big hit and a lot of fun.
I am enclosing a photo of the giant squid that my daughter made.
