Mosaic House Numbers Kit

Mosaic art supplies and craft kits make terrific creative projects.

Here is a mosaic craft kit for creating a lovely decorative one-number to four-number address sign that measures approximately 8 x 8 inches (20cm x 20cm).

The kit includes mosaic stones, a wooden board, glue, grout, mixing stick, sponge, and instructions.

The kit also comes with three beautiful design templates to choose from, or you can create your own design.

The subtle colors of the stones are based on those found in ancient Greek and Roman mosaics.

In addition to being beautiful, the mosaic stones that come with the kit also are easy to work with and are safe. They can be cut with standard craft scissors without crumbling and have no sharp edges.

There are several other materials that you will need in addition to the kit. You will need scissors, a smooth-edged tool (such as a putty knife or spatula) for spreading and smoothing the grout, and some paper towels.

You also will need a bucket or other container for mixing the grout. The instructions that come with the kit should tell you how much water to add and what else to do. You probably will need a measuring cup.

You also should protect your work surface with newspaper, a plastic tablecloth, or some other protective covering.

Your work area also needs to include a space where your project can remain undisturbed while the grout hardens.

Here are some helpful tips regarding applying grout to your mosaic kit project. These suggestions mention the clock kit but they pertain to the house numbers kit as well.

Important: Do not to put grout into your sink. It can harden and clog your pipes. Be sure not to pour the water you used to clean up the grout down the drain or rinse off grout-covered sponges or tools in the sink.
