Make Your Own Ornaments
For truly awesome craft ornaments to make, it's hard to beat stunning dragonfly art pearl and beaded ornaments.
These lovely dragonfly ornaments are variations of the beauty shown in the photo to the left.
See the Dragonfly Ornaments Art and Craft Ideas page for full instructions with step-by-step photos on how to make them.
Except where indicated otherwise, for all of the dragonfly crafts below I used 20 gauge wire for the entire ornament except for the very thin wire used to attach the spirals and beads in the dragonfly's wings.
For that purpose, I used 26 gauge wire except where otherwise indicated. (I prefer using 28 gauge instead of 26 but I did not have wire that thin for most of the colors I used, so I made do with materials that I already had.)

This red and white dragonfly ornament is made of pearls, with three red wooden beads at the end of the tail.
I used 18 gauge wire for the thorax.
Below are two purple and white dragonfly ornaments made of pearls. In the first one, small white pearls and lavender glass beads embellish the wings, and three silver metal beads are at the end of the tail.

In the second ornament, small white pearls embellish the wings, and purple and midnight blue glass beads are at the end of the tail.

Below are two red and green Christmas dragonfly ornaments, each made with stone beads, a metallic bead head, and green glass beads at the end of the tail. The one with red wings also has green glass beads embellishing the wings. The ornament with green wings has small red stone beads decorating the wings.

The red wings are made with 18 gauge wire. Otherwise, the wire for both ornaments is 20 gauge, with 26 gauge attaching the spirals and pearls in the dragonflies' wings.
This pink and white dragonfly ornament with blue antennae is made of pearls, with midnight blue glass beads in the wings and tip of the tail.
This blue and white dragonfly ornament is made of pearls and has green and midnight blue glass beads in the wings and the end of the tail.
This green and white dragonfly ornament is made of pearls, with green glass beads embellishing the end of the tail.
This pearl dragonfly ornament has turquoise and midnight blue wings, turquoise antennae, and midnight blue glass beads at the tip of the tail.
This dragonfly ornament is almost identical to the original one. Here I used 16 gauge wire to make the wings and to attach them to the body; 18 gauge for the body, thorax, and antennae; and 28 gauge to attach the spirals and pearls to the wings.
The 16 gauge wire is copper. All other wire is gold.
